A simple double room in our house at the edge of Gurna, five minutes from the Valley of the Kings road and surrounded by sugarcane. Breakfast with the family, dinner if you want it for a little extra, and my father will talk about the tombs until you make him stop. Shared bathroom, ceiling fan, donkeys outside at dawn.
