Seven hours by 4x4 into the dunes west of the oasis — fossil beds, dune surfing on a board, a swim in the hot spring at Bir Wahed as the temperature drops, and tea on the crest for sunset. Maximum six people in two cars, so nobody eats anyone else's dust. Permits, board, tea and dinner included. We are back in town by nine.
